39 filmes que todo cineasta deve assistir, segundo Martin Scorsese

Filme Rocco ans His Brothers

A história desta valiosa lista começa em 2006, quando o jovem cineasta Colin Levy teve o privilégio de encontrar-se com Scorsese, após ter ganho um concurso de curtas em NY. Infelizmente, para Colin, ele ainda não havia assistido filmes como Taxi Driver, ou Goodfelas, enquanto Scorsese já havia assistido ao seu humilde curta. Felizmente, para nós, o conhecimento cinematográfico limitado do rapaz gerou uma lista de filmes feita por Martin para iniciantes, iniciados e amantes do cinema.

Levy conta que, após o encontro, escreveu uma carta à Scorsese:

“Eu escrevi um cartão de agradecimento, no qual eu expressei a esmagadora impressão que tive de que eu não sei o suficiente sobre qualquer coisa. Eu especialmente não sei o bastante sobre a história do cinema e sobre o cinema estrangeiro. Perguntei se ele teria alguma sugestão sobre onde começar.”
